GROWING UP IN ALASKA
As a boy, I spent the summers working with my dad on our homestead. Together we built our cabins and outbuildings. We felled, skidded, peeled and set logs. He taught me to love the trade and the lifestyle. That was over half a century ago. Today, I still live and work in Alaska.
On this website I will share my building experience and current projects. I also visit cabins built by other local craftsmen and examine their techniques (what works and what doesn't). Please join my wonderful community by subscribing to my newsletter;

Our Family Homestead (1970)
My dad and I built this beautiful modified "A" frame. It is still in use today.
Walking The Purlins
I always worked barefoot when walking the walls. I liked feeling the grip of my feet on the logs.
